I’m Alison and I make things. As an artist, the belief that beautiful design and aesthetics can bring out the magic in everyday objects is foundational to my work. I bring an exacting eye and lofty expectations to every element of visual communication, across a variety of mediums.
I have been fortunate to be able to work in several creative fields simultaneously over the last 15 years. I create coats and tunics that I collage out of upcyled sweaters and textiles. I fashion elaborate braids for festivals, competitions, and special events. I paint and draw in a variety of media. I have worked as an in-house graphic designer, and continue to work as a freelance graphic designer. I graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.A. in Design. I spent several years with Absorbent, Ink in Lawrence Kansas, learning the ins and outs of applied graphic design. Then I wove my creative business pursuits in and around starting a family. In 2016 we moved from Lawrence, KS to Denver, CO. I love living in the shadow of the Rockies, and find a tremendous amount of inspiration for my work in our outdoor adventures. |
